Making a Difference
I am a proud Kiwanian with a track record of team work and getting the job done. To make a difference, I need your support at our District Convention in Saint John this August. Here are some of my goals and thoughts:
- Strong Membership growth by carrying out exciting, meaningful community projects. Best growth strategy will take us to places where competition cannot follow. E.g. Orleans Club in my Division doubled membership in a year (08/09).
- Foster youth leadership: focus on programs/projects that we excel at and dominate. Service Leadership Program (SLP) is our future.
- Increase pool of volunteers in community projects and transition them to Membership. EC&C Board approves volunteer appreciation week in '09.
- Promote better communications and marketing.
- Diversify Membership to mirror our community by opening our doors and our hearts. Diversity includes people of different race, religion, age, gender, ethnicity and physical abilities.
- Maximize impact of every dollar spent in the District. My efforts in the past have helped Kiwanis save money and allocate those resources to the things we care about.
- Doing more with less by building alliances and partnerships. E.g. Collaboration agreement with the Boys and Girls Club of Canada.
Our district can grow and be strong in our uncertain world, with these four key actions:
Imagine
Solve
- Reflects Kiwanis’s unusual ability to solve tough health, educational and social problems.
Build
- Represents a culture of performance, team work, and commitment.
Lead
- Reflects our own spirit of optimism, openness and energy.
